Pancho's Promise drives awareness and action to hold accountable the businesses that profit from boarding, kenneling, training, walking, or grooming dogs. Our first major win — Texas HB 285, "Pancho's Law" — closed a glaring loophole that let careless operators escape prosecution. Our work now is to make sure that law gets used, and to bring similar protections to dog families nationwide.

A family with their dog

What we believe

Dogs are family. The law should reflect that.

The relationship between Texans and their dogs is real, and it deserves real protection. With HB 285, Texas became one of the few states where a daycare, boarder, trainer, or groomer can be criminally prosecuted for the negligent killing of a pet. That's a foundation. Now we keep building.
